Linda, from Craft Apple, contacted me about a month ago to take product shots of her new bag pattern that was coming out as well as to updated the ever popular Patchfolio pattern product pictures. I have to admit, I have not done a whole lot of product photography before, but this was a lot of fun and I think they turned out super cute!

If any of you out there love to sew, Craft Apple has some really cute and functional patterns. Now, if I could only get someone to make me that car organizer! Love it!

I belong to the Professional Photographers of America association and one of the perks of being a member is that we get a free magazine every month – Professional Photographer Magazine. I was flipping through it casually this month – they had a cute picture of a newborn on the cover and I just LOVE taking pictures of newborns. So I got to page 28 and stopped in shock! There, one of my pictures was published in the magazine. I can’t tell you what it feels like to see your art published for 100′s of thousands to see. And, associated with a charity! Just wanted to share.

5 is a big deal

I never knew just how big a deal turning 5 years old is to a child until my son and all his friends had this momentous birthday. It’s been a month since Jace turned 5 and he still will walk up to anyone and say “You know, I’m a 5 year old”. It is the cutest thing! During his preschool graduation, a slideshow was played documenting the whole year. Scattered throughout the video were the children telling the camera what they wanted to be when they grew up. There was a lot of firemen (and one fire truck!), a race car driver, a doctor or two, an artist . . . the standard. But one really stuck out. A little boy at the end said all he wanted to be was 5. Everyone laughed because he was the last one yet to have this big birthday and he knew just how special it was!

5 years old is a precious age for your child. They are just in between being your baby and the young men and women yet to come. Our children’s childhoods go by so fast. Preserve this “big age of 5″ with big boy and girl portraits of your child. They will thank you when they are older and you will have “5″ for a lifetime.

Jared – Keller High School Senior

It is not often that I get to photograph “big people”, but when I do, we have a lot of fun! This guy was extra special because they were one of my very first families I photographed when I opened the studio. Now, three years later Jared’s all grown up, handsome as can be, and ready to graduate high school.

Good luck Jared. Enjoy every minute because after this, time flies way too fast!

2009 Costume Mini Sessions | DFW Child Photographer

Costume mini sessions are back for 2009! This year we are doing something different. For the session, bring in either rice or beans to be donated to charity and the package this year is simply a low resolution digital file for you to store on your computer, email to family and friends or show off on your iPhone.

There are limited sessions available, so call to book your time. Who wouldn't want a professional portrait done of their little cutie all dressed up in costume!

My Baby’s Last Year Before School | Grapevine Children’s Photographer

Every year I take pictures at one Mother's Day Out school – Stars Academy in Grapevine. This is the school that my son attends as well as our church (Abundant Life). He's in pre-k now and this is his last year that I get to take his school pictures (officially that is :>)).

Here is the fall set we are doing this year. Isn't he just so handsome? Ok, so I am a tad bit prejudice. Oh my gosh, I don't know what I am going to do in the spring when I have to take his cap and gown pictures for graduating into kindergarten!
